What is SLM Bodywork?

SLM stands for Steve Lockhart’s Myotherapy. It is a hands-on bodywork approach that combines elements of acupressure, myotherapy and massage techniques.

SLM Bodywork focuses on muscles, soft tissues and movement, with treatment tailored to the individual. The aim is to help reduce muscular tension, improve movement and support comfortable everyday activity.

Can SLM Massage help me?

Everyday activities, work, exercise and sport can place different demands on the muscles and joints. Over time, some people may experience muscular tightness, stiffness, soreness or restricted movement.

SLM Bodywork uses hands-on techniques tailored to the areas being treated. Rather than following exactly the same treatment for every client, I consider your movement, muscular tension, activities and individual needs.

SLM may be used as part of a broader approach to maintaining movement and muscular wellbeing. Where appropriate, I may also suggest practical strategies to help support mobility and recovery between appointments.

About Mick Jordan

I am a Naturopath and Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist based in Brighton, Melbourne, with more than 30 years of clinical experience.

My background combines naturopathy, nutrition, massage and extensive experience working in sporting environments. Over the years I have worked with athletes across AFL, athletics and international sporting events, alongside my clinical work helping clients with their individual health, movement and recovery needs.

This experience influences the way I approach SLM Bodywork. Treatment is individualised according to the person, their activities, areas of muscular tension and their goals.
